I think American Musical Supply and the other online musical instrument retailers are the way of the future and will ultimately kill off most brick and mortar music stores. It's too bad because it's nice to try out an instrument before you buy it. At least with AMS, if you don't like it, you can return it with no hassles. I have bough several guitars from them this way and while it's a bit of a pain, it works out in the end.

I use AMS for all my instrument needs. They are the most reliable online music instrument retailer. I've bought a couple of guitars from them that I returned because they just weren't right for me. There were no problems with the returns and I finally got the guitar I wanted.

I checked out the pricing on all the big online music stores and found their prices were pretty close. I prefer AMS because I think they have a bit more selection.
